In another notable result on the Magic Millions Raced card, six-time Group 1 winner Buffering (Aus) (Mossman {Aus}) recorded a popular win in the 1300-meter Magic Millions Plate. The 8-year-old gelding, a A$22,000 yearling buy, has now bankrolled more than A$6,444,866 with 19 wins from 51 starts.
“If we'd lost today they [owners] probably would've sacked the trainer at fives on [$1.20], so it's an enormous relief,” said trainer Robert Heathcote. “It gives me a lot of pride to showcase him here on his home turf in Queensland. He's one of Queensland's best-ever sprinters so to win here in front of everybody is just magic.”
Buffering's next target will be the G1 Al Quoz Sprint on the Dubai World Cup card in March.
