The sale of a share of the Aga Khan Stud's stallion Siyouni (Fr) (Pivotal {GB}–Sichilla {Ire}, by Danehill) was completed online on Tuesday through Arqana's on-line bidding portal arqanaonline.com. It was the third such share in the stallion that has gone for auction recently and it yielded the highest price so far when agent Mick Flanagan sealed the deal with a bid of €360,000. Flanagan was buying on behalf of the China Horse Club and was delighted to have secured the share. “Siyouni is proving to be a highly successful young stallion, he is by good stallion himself in Pivotal, out of a Danehill mare and we have great faith in him for the future,” commented Flanagan. China Horse Club are an emerging force in global racing and breeding and are assembling a quality band of broodmares to compliment their racing stock. “China Horse Club have been acquiring some nice mares and we think Siyouni will be a good match for one of them. His stock have been really well received at the sales and he is being supported by some top class mares so he has a great chance of being a highly successful stallion,” added Flanagan.
