'Room' for Fresh Face in Santa Monica

Room for Me | NYRA/Coglianese

Room for Me (Harlington) makes the cross country trip from New York for Saturday's GII Santa Monica S. at Santa Anita. The bay, third after leading in the stretch in last summer's GI Ballerina S. at Saratoga, followed a win in Aqueduct's Garland of Roses S. Dec. 5 with a third-place finish behind champion La Verdad (Yes It's True) in the Interborough S. Jan. 9. Owned and trained by David Jacobson, Room for Me won three of four attempts at Santa Anita while previously campaigned on the West Coast.

Ben's Duchess (Munnings), an impressive come-from-behind winner of the GIII L.A. Woman S. Oct. 4, returned with a disappointing fourth at odds of 3-1 in the GI La Brea S. Dec. 26. She gets the slight nod on the morning-line at 5-2.

Prize Exhibit (GB) (Showcasing {GB}) makes her first attempt on the dirt here. The three-time graded winner enters off a narrow tally in the GII Monrovia S. going down the hill Jan. 3.
