A yearling colt by Curlin topped Sunday's Fasig-Tipton Midlantic Winter Mixed Sale in Timonium when selling for $76,000 to Machmer Hall. Hip 101 is out of Thrill Seeker (Housebuster), a half-sister to Grade I placed Aggadan (Carnivalay) and stakes winner Love You Madly (Partner's Hero). Bred by Kate and Greg DeMasi's Pewter Stable, the yearling was consigned by Marshall Silverman, agent. Curlin was also represented by the top two priced yearlings during last week's OBS Winter Mixed Sale.
From a catalogue of 167, Fasig-Tipton sold 104 head Sunday for a total of $878,100. The average was $8,443 and the median was $4,350. A total of 16 horses were reported not sold for a buy-back rate of 13.3%.
