Under pressure and seemingly beaten inside the final quarter mile, the chestnut stuck at it to grind down Paddy Power (Ire) (Pivotal {GB}) in the last 25 yards en route to a gutsy half-length success. “He could be a horse for the future,” trainer Jim Bolger said. “He doesn't lack toe and when these horses get a run they can sharpen up. A Guineas Trial seems the obvious thing now. He got through that well and I'd say he'll handle any ground.” The dam, who is a full-sister to the Canadian champion Perfect Soul (Ire), has a 2-year-old and a yearling colt by Drosselmeyer, the former named Drosselmeyer Joe, and is carrying a filly foal by Revolutionary.
