One of the world's top sprinters Aerovelocity (NZ) (Pins {Aus}) has been scratched from his much anticipated next appearance in the G1 Takamatsunomiya Kinen at Chukyo, Japan, next Sunday. The defending champion, last seen beating Gold-Fun (Ire) in the Centenery Sprint Cup at Sha Tin in January is suffering from a bout of colic. His trainer Paul O'Sullivan issued a statement about the durable 8-year old and said, “I always want a horse to go into a race in the best possible condition he can be. On this occasion with what has happened, I have decided to withdraw thinking foremost of the horse. I am only praying for his recovery. I believe that many Japanese racing fans were looking forward to seeing Aerovelocity race. It is very disappointing for us as well and I hope that we will be able to return to Japan again and I ask for your continued support.”
