Dreaming Of Oaks Glory

Arcadia Dream (Aus) (Domesday {Aus}) has done little wrong in her 12 starts to date, and the 3-year-old filly will endure a major class test when leaving Western Australia and testing Group 1 company for the first time in Saturday's Schweppes Oaks. Having raced exclusively at Ascot in Perth since last October, Arcadia Dream has won two of her last three, most recently the G2 Schweppes WATC Derby over 2400 metres, but she will have to overcome the extreme outside barrier 20 here.

Silent Sedition (Aus) (War Chant) won twice in the Victoria provinces in March, including the Listed Bendigo Guineas, before finishing second in a Sandown handicap Apr. 9. She shipped here and got an ideal prep when winning the G3 Auraria S. over 1800 metres Apr. 23, and steps up to 2000 metres for the first time.

Godolphin's Asinara (Aus) (Teofilo {Ire}) has shaped with promise through her first six starts, and this season contested some of Sydney's key races with credit. She was seventh, beaten 3 1/2 lengths, in the G1 Vinery Stud S. Mar. 26, and was beaten a similar margin when fourth when last seen in the G3 Frank Packer Plate at Randwick Apr. 16. Both those runs were over this distance. Another shipping from Sydney is the Anthony Cummings-trained Believe (Aus) (Fastnet Rock {Aus}), who was ninth in the Vinery but notched a key Group 1 placing last-out when third in the Australian Oaks at The Championships Apr. 9.

Abbey Marie (Aus) (Redoute's Choice {Aus}) is an unknown quantity and potential star, having won both her starts to date in eye-catching fashion. She makes a huge class jump here from a Caulfield handicap win Apr. 23.
