Tickets On Sale For Open Weekend

Tickets are on sale for the second Newmarket Open Weekend, which has been expanded to two days, Sept. 17 and 18. Tickets range from £14.40 to £30. Last year's event raised £50,000 for three local charities, and this year's beneficiaries will be the Racing Welfare Housing Project and the Newmarket Day Centre.

Saturday's events will include public access to Warren Hill gallops; a first look at the National Heritage Centre for Horseracing and Sporting Art; a tour and talk at Tattersalls; guided tours of the Jockey Club rooms; and racing at the Rowley Mile. On Sunday, participants can visit trainers' yards, the Newmarket Equine Hospital and the British Racing School, followed again by racing at the Rowley Mile. Events at the races will include a food and drink festival, a racing personality show jumping competition and commentary from seven local trainers.

“It is already set to be another fantastic weekend, especially during such a special year for the town as we celebrate 350 years of the Home of Horseracing,” said Sara Cumani, Chairman of Newmarket Open Weekend. “With the event all in aid of two extremely good causes, I would urge visitors to make a weekend of it to ensure you can visit all the attractions open over the two days. On behalf of the committee, I would very much like to thank all stakeholders involved for their continued support and we look forward to another fabulous Newmarket Open Weekend.”
