Sixteen teams representing farms and other Thoroughbred-related agencies in Central Kentucky will participate in the 5th Annual Thoroughbred Farm Soccer Tournament, to be held June 4-11 on the grounds of Dixiana Farms, 3787 Kenney Lane. The tournament is free and open to the public. Spectators are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets for seating during the first-round games on the 4th and 5th. Games will continue through the week, culminating with the championship match June 11.
“This tournament is a great opportunity for community building, and for farm managers and grooms alike to interact in a fun, family-friendly atmosphere”, says Wade Haga, outreach director for Blue Grass Farms Charities.
Participating teams include: Dixiana Farms, Juddmonte Farms, Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital, WinStar Farm, Three Chimneys Farm, Ashford Stud, Summer Wind Farm, Calumet Farm, Woods Edge Farm (2015 champion), Gainesway Farms, Millennium Farms Kentucky, St. George Sales/Blackwood Stables, Lane's End Farm, Stephen Hillenmeyer Landscape Services, KatieRich Farms and Taylor Made Sales Agency, Inc.
