PRETTY CITY DANCER (f, 2, Tapit–Pretty City, by Carson City) an $825,000 Keeneland September yearling acquisition, made amends for a troubled third-place effort on her racetrack debut May 5 with a comfortable victory at odds-on Friday beneath the Twin Spires. Up slightly on her hind legs as the gates flew back, Pretty City Dancer raced towards the back early on with chief market rival Honey Bunny (Tapizar) under a good hold from Julien Leparoux. Steered out four wide at the three-eighths, the gray tugged her way into third at the head of the lane and raced past the debuting Forever Fara (Majesticperfection) to graduate by 2 3/4 lengths. Chanson d'Amour (Harlan's Holiday) was a nose further back in third. Pretty City Dancer is a half-sister to Lear's Princess (Lear Fan), GISW, $491,870, who famously upset that year's GI Belmont S. winner Rags To Riches (A.P. Indy) in the 2007 GI Gazelle S. Lear's Princess was subsequently sold to Shadwell Farm for $2.7 million at the 2008 Fasig-Tipton November sale. Lifetime Record: 2-1-0-1, $30,800.
