Galileo's Pretty Perfect Slams Munster Oaks Rivals

Pretty Perfect | Racing Post

Displaying a powerful galloping style when making all to win the Listed Salsabil S. on testing ground over 10 furlongs at Navan Apr. 17, Pretty Perfect was no match for the high-class Zhukova (Ire) (Fastnet Rock {Aus}) when 7 1/2 lengths second to that Weld trainee in the G3 Blue Wind S. also at a mile and a quarter at Naas May 11. Ninth of 10 when providing the requisite pace for Minding (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) in the G1 Irish 1000 Guineas at The Curragh 11 days later, the bay was back in her area of expertise here and duly made all to register a commanding first group success under Colm O'Donoghue. Looking a sitting duck at the top of the straight as the well-supported Shamreen loomed in behind, Pretty Perfect gave generously to her rider and drew away from the Aga Khan homebred in an impressive show of strength. “She ran very bad in the Guineas and that threw us, but maybe we ran her back too quickly,” Aidan O'Brien commented. “The Guineas was a hard race to work out, because we ran Coolmore in it and she ran very bad, too. We're delighted with her today and she'll maybe go to an Irish Oaks [at The Curragh July 16] now. She seems to stay well. Best In the World ran well and also stays well.” The dam, who scored at listed level and was second in the G1 Schweppes Oaks, is a full-sister to the MG1SW French highweight and sire Holy Roman Emperor (Ire) and descends from the multiple Canadian champion and blue hen Fanfreluche. She is a full-sister to the leading sire Night Shift and produced five black type-winners headed by the champions L'Enjoleur and La Voyageuse (Tentam), with her dynasty extending to the GI Yellow Ribon Invitational winner Aube Indienne (Fr) (Bluebird) and the Australian group 1-winning sires Flying Spur (Aus) and Encosta Del Lago (Aus). Other members of this esteemed family to fly the standard include the Ahmed Al Maktoum luminaries Bint Allayl (GB) (Green Desert) and Kheleyf and last year's G1 Grand Prix de Paris hero Erupt (Ire) (Dubawi {Ire}). Milanova's youngest offspring is a 2-year-old full-sister to this winner named Asanta Sana (Ire).
