Sheikh Hamdan's Intilaaq (Dynaformer), who beat just one home when last seen in the G3 Brigadier Gerard S. May 26, could be seen next in mid to late July, according to trainer Roger Varian. The Newmarket conditioner noted the 4-year-old, who scoped dirty after his Brigadier Gerard effort, would bypass next week's G2 Princess of Wales's S. at Newmarket in favour of the Listed Steventon S.–which he won last year–at Newbury July 16, or the G2 Skybet York S. a week later.
“He is doing well but he will not run next week in the mile-and-a-half Group 2 at Newmarket,” Varian said. “I am happy with him and he could be back in time for either the Steventon S. or the York S. at the end of July.
Varian also provided an update on G2 Ribblesdale S. runner-up Ajman Princess (Ire) (Teofilo {Ire}). That Sheikh Mohammed Obaid colourbearer has finished second in all four starts and made an excellent account of herself while making a large class jump at Royal Ascot.
“She is in good form but we have not got a race plan for her yet,” the trainer said. “She ran a good race in the Ribblesdale and is a nice, promising filly. She is still a maiden and is still improving. Hopefully we can get her to win a maiden and then a stakes race with her.”
