The G2 Missile S. at Randwick Aug. 6 has been earmarked as the first major target of the new season for Capitalist (Aus) (Written Tycoon {Aus}). The 'TDN Rising Star' and G1 Golden Slipper winner will first take in a barrier trial on Friday and co-trainer Peter Snowden is looking forward to getting him back on track. “He had five or six weeks off and he's been in work about two-and-a-half months. So far, touch wood, everything is going fine,” Snowden told racingandsports.com. “He trials this Friday and possibly has another trial and then hopefully he'll run in the Missile Stakes on the sixth of August.” Assuming Capitalist comes through the Missile in good shape he is likely to step back up to Group 1 company with the G1 Golden Rose S. at Rosehill in September a likely option. “The Missile is his first run and then maybe the Run To The Rose. We'll just take one race at a time,” Snowden added. Looking further ahead Snowden is keen to eventually target the G1 Coolmore Stud S. at Flemington at the end of October. Capitalist is already proven at the top level at that trip and Snowden commented, “The Coolmore is definitely on the radar. That's the ultimate goal.”
