Airdrie Stud freshman sire Creative Cause (by Giant's Causeway) was represented by his initial black-type winner July 9 when Theonewewaitedfor took out the Landaluce S. and CAUSAL will look to make a connection Monday afternoon. Bred by Brereton C. Jones, the gray filly is a daughter of Jones's Ms. Cornstalk (Indian Charlie), making her a half-sister to Canadian Horse of the Year and champion 2- and 3-year-old filly Biofuel (Stormin Fever) as well as fellow Sovereign Award-winning juvenile filly and 'TDN Rising Star', the late Tu Endie Wei (Johar), each of whom annexed their career debuts. Causal was purchased by George Strawbridge's Augustin Stable for $400k at last year's KEESEP sale, easily the most expensive of her sire's 37 first-crop yearlings to sell in 2015. Debby Oxley's pink-and-black silks are set to be borne upon Dixie Dancer (Union Rags), whose $460k sale at last year's FTSAUG represented her freshman sire (by Dixie Union)'s most expensive yearling (of 59 sold). Nancy Mazzoni bred Dixie Dancer from her mare Trappings (Seeking the Gold), the dam of 2009 champion 2-year-old filly She Be Wild (Offlee Wild), who graduated by better than seven lengths on debut.
