A Deep Impact son of dual Grade I winner Champagne d'Oro (Medaglia d'Oro) (lot 99) from Shadai Farm shot to the top of the JRHA yearling leaderboard on Monday when hammered down to local owner Masaaki Matsushima for ¥235,000,000 ($2.35-million). The colt slightly bettered the price (¥230-million) commanded by his Tapit half-brother at this sale last year.
