While it had originally appeared that Grade I winner Stormy Lucy (Stormy Atlantic) would fail to find a new home Monday evening at the Fasig-Tipton July Selected Horses of Racing Age Sale when she left the ring unsold at $650,000, Tom Ryan of SF Bloodstock was later able to acquire her for $575,000. The 7-year-old was consigned to the sale by Taylor Made Sales Agency, Agent VI. Trained by Ed Moger, Jr., the $24,000 Barretts May juvenile purchase scored a 65-1 upset in last November's GI Matriarch S. at Del Mar. She earned a total of $851,700 on the track from a record of 34-8-5-5.
