ARROGATE (c, 3, Unbridled's Song–Bubbler {MSW & GSP, $211,622}, by Distorted Humor), a 'TDN Rising Star', scored his third consecutive facile victory and may have stamped his ticket to the GI Travers S. with another impressive effort in a three-horse allowance at Del Mar. The big gray was third with a lot of trouble in his Apr. 17 debut at Los Alamitos before reeling off a pair of dazzling wins around two turns at Santa Anita, most recently earning a 103 Beyer in a 5 1/4-length romp there June 24. Off with all the money on at 1-10 in this short field, Arrogate broke a bit hesitantly and dropped out to run third through the first half of the race, allowing front-running Kristo (Distorted Humor) to dictate an easy pace of :24.13 and :48.34. Pushed on by Rafael Bejarano heading into the far turn, the Juddmonte colorbearer drew within a length of the front after three-quarters in 1:12.12, blew by the leader in early stretch and came home 1 3/4 lengths to the good of that one, running his final five-sixteenths in well below 30 seconds. The winner is the first foal from a multiple stakes winning and graded stakes placed dam who most recently produced a yearling filly by Medaglia d'Oro and dropped a Giant's Causeway filly this season. Arrogate's third dam, Meadow Star, was champion 2-year-old filly of 1990 and the winner of six Grade I events in her career. Sales history: $560,000 Ylg '14 KEESEP.
