There's certainly no shortage of pedigree appeal in this event, which features four newcomers by top sire Bernardini. Phipps homebred RECOLLECTION (Distorted Humor) hails from one of the deepest female families in the American stud book. Out of MGSW and MGISP Daydreaming (A.P. Indy), she is a half to Grade I-winning turfer Imagining (Giant's Causeway). Among the Grade I winners littering her page are Rhythm, Girolamo, Super Saver, Got Lucky, Bluegrass Cat and Dance Number. Aspen Hilltop (Bernardini), who trainer Gary Contessa has already voiced high expectations for, is a $350,000 KEESEP yearling and the first foal to race out of 2012 GI Santa Monica S. winner Home Sweet Aspen (Candy Ride {Arg}). Home Sweet Aspen was carrying Aspen Hilltop when she sold for $510,000 at the 2013 Keeneland November sale. She'd RNA for $725,000 there two years later. Tom Albertrani pupil Berned (Bernardini) was a $550,000 KEESEP pick-up. Her dam First Passage (Giant's Causeway), a $1.2-million Keeneland yearling herself, took the 2009 GIII Azalea S. GSW third dam Win Craft Lady (CraftyProspector) produced GISW Harmony Lodge (Hennessy), MGSW millionaire Graeme Hall (Dehere), and two other graded stakes winners. Jamyson 'n Ginger (Bernardini) is a daughter of 2008 Canadian champion 3-year-old filly Ginger Brew (Milwaukee Brew). She sold for $280,000 at the 2016 Fasig-Tipton Florida sale after breezing a furlong in :10 flat. Thirtydaysinjune (Algorithms) was a $57,000 KEESEP yearling and $125,000 OBSMAR juvenile after a :10 1/5 breeze. Her dam is a half to MGSIW sprinter Henny Hughes (Hennessy). TJCIS PPs
