Nemoralia | Racing Post

Few who recall the dynamic performance of Nemoralia (More Than Ready) in the Listed Michael Seely Memorial S. over a mile here May 13 will look elsewhere as she enjoys a drop in class in Friday's G3 City of York S. After that six-length win, she was runner-up to Qemah (Ire) (Danehill Dancer {Ire}) in the G1 Coronation S. at Royal Ascot June 17 and fourth in the G1 Prix Jean Prat at Chantilly July 10 and deserves the chance to restore some confidence. Opposing her is the upwardly-mobile 3-year-old colt Forge (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}), a son of Heat Haze (GB) (Green Desert) with that connection to so many illustrious performers in the Juddmonte livery who got better with experience. Runner-up in the G3 Thoroughbred S. over a mile at Goodwood last time July 29, he has the feel of a group 1 winner in the making which Godolphin's 2014 Middle Park hero Charming Thought (GB) (Oasis Dream {GB}) already is and he was last seen finishing sixth in the G3 Hackwood S. over six furlongs at Newbury July 16. “His first two runs on the comeback trail were over six furlongs, but I think he is now ready for the step up to seven,” trainer Charlie Appleby said. “And one mile will be the next step after that. It is a very competitive race, but I feel he will acquit himself well.”
