France's staying scene heats up on Sunday when His Highness The Aga Khan's Candarliya (Fr) (Dalakhani {Ire}) takes in the G2 Darley Prix Kergorlay at Deauville. Having beaten Launched (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) comfortably in the July 14 G2 Prix Maurice de Nieuil over 14 furlongs at Saint-Cloud, the homebred who also captured last year's G2 Prix de Royallieu and G3 Prix Minerve and finished runner-up in the G1 Prix Vermeille looks like one who could make her mark in the marathon events of 2016. The Niarchos Family's Launched, who is slightly better off with the filly at the weights this time, had previously won the May 12 Listed Prix Bedel and June 18 Listed Grand Prix de Lyon over 12 furlongs at Lyon-Parilly and is still open to improvement at this distance. Fly With Me (Fr) (Beat Hollow {GB}) beat Candarliya by a neck in the G3 Prix de Barbeville over this trip at Chantilly Apr. 24 and returns after a break since his second in the G2 Prix Vicomtesse Vigier over a half-furlong further at Saint-Cloud May 29.
