The unbeaten Persuasive (Ire) (Dark Angel {Ire}) will face her sternest test to date when she lines up for the G1 Coolmore Fastnet Rock Matron S. at Leopardstown in two weeks time. Unlike many Cheveley Park Stud runners she is not a homebred, rather a €180,000 Goffs Orby yearling purchase and she extended her winning spree to five when landing the G3 Atalanta Fillies S. at Sandown Aug 20. The John Gosden trained 3-year-old had previously announced her top level potential when winning the Listed Sandringham H. at Royal Ascot. Chris Richardson, who manages Cheveley Park Stud for owners David and Patricia Thompson said, “At the moment it's looking like the Matron, but obviously that looks like it's going to be a red-hot race. However, it looks like it's going to slot in nicely time-wise. Her main autumn target is the [G1] Sun Chariot at Newmarket [Oct. 1].” Cheveley Park Stud have won the Kingdom Of Bahrain Sun Chariot S. twice this decade with Peeress (GB) (Pivotal {GB}) in 2005 and Integral (GB) (Dalakhani {Ire}) in 2014.
