Madam Dancealot Heads Champions Sale

The Goffs Champions Sale in association with Brown Thomas, which will take place at 1:30 p.m. in the Leopardstown parade ring ahead of day one of Irish Champions Weekend, has drawn a small but select catalogue of four, headed by last week's G3 Dick Poole S. winner Madam Dancealot (Ire) (Sir Prancealot {Ire}) (lot 4).

Madam Dancealot broke her maiden at third asking at Newbury July 7, less than a month after being bought by Luke Lillingston on behalf of owner Olivia Hoare for £100,000 at the Goffs London Sale, and she significantly boosted her credentials with her Dick Poole score two starts later.

Lillingston said, “It was always the plan to sell Madam Dancealot this year and the Goffs Champions Sale is the perfect platform to showcase a filly of this calibre. By the leading first- season sire Sir Prancealot and out of a Danehill mare, out of a Slip Anchor mare, she is proven at Group 3 level and looks a filly who will only keep improving.”

Trainer Joe Tuite described Madam Dancealot as “very straightforward and genuine to train, and loves fast ground,” while jockey Tom Queally said, she is “honest, tough and classy.”

Also up for sale is the Jim Bolger-trained Siamsaiocht (Ire) (Teofilo {Ire}) (lot 6), a full-sister to Group 1 winner Parish Hall (Ire); the stakes-placed and G1 Keeneland Phoenix S.-fourth Grand Coalition (Ire) (Kodiac {GB}) (lot 2); and another 2-year-old colt, the maiden winner Forrest Prince (Ire) (Approve {Ire}) (lot 3).

“This year's Champions catalogue is smaller than previous years, however we have stuck to our original selection criteria for this sale, which is to catalogue only highly rated proven performers with international potential,” said Goffs Chief Executive Henry Beeby. “Indeed, Goffs Champions Sale is the epitome of quality over quantity and we are very pleased with the standard of horses on offer.”

“Goffs Champions Sale is about showcasing a select number of top-class horses-in-training to international buyers in Ireland for Irish Champions Weekend,” Beeby added. “It is also about opening up the auction process to a wider audience, and what better place than centre stage at Leopardstown to kick off Irish Champions Weekend on the right note.”
