Harzand (Ire) (Sea The Stars {Ire}) a disappointing favourite when finishing eighth in the G1 QIPCO Irish Champion S. was apparently struck into early in the race, something that certainly wouldn't have done his chances any favours. Dermot Weld on Sunday reported the Aga Khan's dual Derby winner as “very sore” and “lame” following his efforts at Leopardstown. “It was a brave performance considering he was chopped from behind in the early stages of the race,” said Weld. The G1 Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe is in three weeks time and regarding the colt's prospects of making the lineup Weld added, 'We'll just see how he is later in he week before making any decisions.”
