G1 Irish 1000 Guineas winner Jet Setting (Ire) (Fast Company {Ire}) could be supplemented for the G2 Dubai 100 Challenge S. at Newmarket Oct. 7. The bay, who was bought by the China Horse Club out of the Goffs London Sale for £1.3-million after her Classic score, was sixth in the G1 Coolmore Fastnet Rock Matron S. at Leopardstown last weekend, the same position she filled in Royal Ascot's G1 Coronation S. in her previous start. If supplemented for the Challenge S., she will revert to the seven-furlong trip over which she won the G3 Leopardstown 1000 Guineas Trial earlier this year.
“We thought she ran well, she was actually the only one on the bridle two [furlongs] out,” said trainer Adrian Keatley of Jet Setting's Matron run. “Our filly likes to be chased, but [jockey] Christophe [Soumillon] was still sitting pretty two out.”
“She needs softer ground to be seen at her best and it had dried to nearly good,” Keatley added. “She's not as scopey as some, especially at this time of year, and she was half-bullied by John Gosden's horse [Persuasive]. It didn't work out for her but she was only run out of the prize money in the last 100 yards.”
“She's come out of it fine and we're hopeful that she might go to Newmarket on Dewhurst weekend, as there's a seven-furlong race we could supplement her for,” Keatley added. “If she never won another race she owes us nothing.”
