La Cressonniere Out Of Arc

La Cressonniere (Fr) (Le Havre {Ire}) has been ruled out of next Sunday's G1 Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe by trainer Jean-Claude Rouget after returning sore after training on Saturday, according to Jour de Galop.

“On Saturday morning, after her canter, we found that the filly was feeling a little discomfort in her hindquarters,” Rouget explained. “So we were forced to put her on an anti-inflammatory. Given the time requirements, it is impossible for her to start this Sunday at Chantilly.”

Rouget said he did not believe the setback to be a serious problem, and expected La Cressonniere to stay in training next year.

“At present, it is not possible to say whether this discomfort is located in the pelvis, spine, or elsewhere,” he explained. “But I think it's not a very serious problem. The filly will rest this winter. She will return as a 4-year-old in 2017.”

Campaigned by Ecurie Antonio Caro and Gerard Augustin-Normand, La Cressonniere is unbeaten in eight outings. She won the G1 Poule d'Essai des Pouliches May 15 followed by the G1 Prix de Diane June 19, and was last seen taking the G2 Prix de la Nonette by two lengths Aug. 23.
