Reddam Racing's champion and GI Kentucky Derby winner Nyquist (Uncle Mo) had his first work Friday since finishing sixth in the GII Pennsylvania Derby Sept. 24. Being pointed to the Nov. 5 GI Breeders' Cup Classic, the Doug O'Neill pupil covered four furlongs at Santa Anita in :50.80 (19/24). “I got him in 50 flat with the last eighth in 11 and two,” offered O'Neill. “Running in the Classic is a tall order, for sure, but the horse has a lot of talent. He's undefeated at Santa Anita and was an undefeated Kentucky Derby winner. We believe in him and we support him, so we should be in good shape.”
