Create a Dream stamped herself as a juvenile turf filly to watch, overcoming a wide draw to record a solid off-the-pace victory in the Chelsey Flower S. on closing day at Belmont.
A victress on debut at Ascot Apr. 27, the St. Elias Stable homebred followed that up with a good showing when fourth, beaten one length in the G3 Albany S. there June 17. Switching from the care of Wesley Ward after that outing, the bay ran fourth after a stumbling start in the local GIII Miss Grillo S. Oct. 2. Off as the 2-1 choice in this full field, Create a Dream came away smoothly from the outside stall and settled sixth in the third flight heading down the backstretch. Commencing a steady three wide advance passing the three-furlong pole, the favorite swept to the lead without much urging at the top of the lane and kicked clear into the final furlong. Noble Ready briefly looked menacing soon after, but Create a Dream stoutly turned that rival back and earned a convincing victory. Beat the Benchmark came on late to nip Noble Ready late for second to complete a one-two finish for the Chad Brown barn.
The winner's dam was an accomplished turf performer in France before coming to the U.S. and running second to the great Zenyatta (Street Cry {Ire}) in the 2009 GI Clement L. Hirsch S.
