Agents Peter and Ross Doyle secured the two highest-priced lots at the Tattersalls Ireland September Yearling Sale on Thursday when the sale shifted down a gear for the two-session Part II. The session overall saw 144 yearlings change hands for €1,110,400, at a buyback rate of 29.4%. The average for the day was €7,711, and the median €5,500. New Nomination Stage For EBF

An additional opportunity to nominate has been added to the European Breeders Fund programme. Any horse sired by a stallion standing within Europe that is not registered to the EBF can now be nominated any time after Jan. 1 of their 2-year-old year at a one-off cost of €12,000, or the sterling or dollar equivalent. This new stage will also include those horses sired by a stallion standing outside of Europe (international stallions) not registered to the EBF in addition to the current nomination deadlines.

Godolphin has completed the private purchase of Atty Persse (Ire) (Frankel {GB}), a first-out winner at Sandown Sept. 14 for owner/breeder Bjorn Nielsen. Weight-For-Age Scale Amended

Flat racing's weight-for-age scale will be adjusted across Europe next year for races 10 furlongs and above. Following extensive data analysis and research by the British Horseracing Authority and other nations, the decision was made to amend the scale to remove the clear advantage to 3-year-olds that the data reflected. The alterations will be minimal, and range from one pound at 10, 11 and 12 furlongs to three pounds over longer distances.
