Julien Leparoux, a two-time Eclipse Award winning rider, collected his 3,000th career win aboard Pike Place (Street Boss) in the third race at Churchill Downs on Thursday, the track said in a press release that same day. Leparoux, 41, launched his career in 2005. Trainer Richard Fahey saddled his 3,000th winner when Hong Kong Harry (Ire) (Es Que Love {Ire}) saluted at Ayr on Tuesday evening. Fahey has trained over 150 winners a year for the past six seasons, with his best annual number equaling the then-record of 235 wins. The record has since been broken by Mark Johnston.
