Gestut Rottgen hosted its annual stallion parade on Saturday, with those on show including two new recruits to the German stallion ranks in Assistent (Ger) and Fantastic Moon (Ger), both sons of the German champion sire Sea The Moon (Ger). Stallion Show At Gestut Schlenderhan

While stallion viewings on the ITM Irish Stallion Trail and La Route des Etalons plus the chance of viewing stallions at Newmarket was underway this past week, Gestut Schlenderhan's stallion base at Zieverich in their hometown of Bergheim hosted the eighth edition of its own stallion show. Star German sprinter Areion (Ger) (Big Shuffle--Aerleona {Ire}, by Caerleon), a multiple champion sire in his native land, was euthanized due to complications from colic at the age of 27 on Friday, Galopp Online reported.
