NYRA Puts Weekend Racing At Aqueduct On Ice

The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) canceled live racing on Saturday and Sunday at Aqueduct Racetrack due to arctic temperatures that will range from 23 degrees to as low as six degrees in Ozone Park and extremely low wind chill values forecast to impact the New York metropolitan area throughout the weekend, the track said in a press release on Thursday afternoon. The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) has canceled live racing at Aqueduct Racetrack on Friday due to high winds forecast to impact the New York City metropolitan area, the organization said in a release that same morning. The National Weather Service has placed Southern Queens under a wind advisory beginning at 12 p.m. ET, with current forecasts calling for sustained high winds and gusts in excess of 45 mph.
