Lot 1, Mistergif (Fr) (Zarak {Fr}), brought €190,000 from Pierre Boulard (PB Bloodstock Services), Harold Kirk and Willie Mullins to top the first Arqana Pop-Up Sale on Friday. A novice over jumps, the Sylvain Dehez-trained gelding was second in the Prix Ventriloque on his comeback in March over hurdles at Auteuil. The catalogue for Arqana's annual Breeze Up Sale, set to be held May 11-13 at Deauville, will be available online starting on Tuesday, Mar. 14. This year 185 2-year-olds are on offer, including 38 out of Group winning/producing mares, plus a number of full or half-siblings to Group 1 winners. In support of the humanitarian aid deployed to those affected by the earthquakes that hit Turkey and Syria Feb. 6t, Coolmore has donated a stallion cover to Classic winner Camelot (GB) (Montjeu {Ire}). The cover will be offered at Arqana's February Mixed sale, without fees, Tuesday, Feb. 14 as lot 70. All proceeds will be donated to the International Committee of the Red Cross. A share (1/50th) in French Classic winner Persian King (Ire) (Kingman {GB}), who stands at Haras d'Etreham, realised top price of €190,000 from Patricia Butel during the Arqana Online Sale Tuesday. Eight stallion shares and breeding rights and five purebred Arabians of racing age sold for a total of €511,000. Two more stallion shares and a breeding right have been added to the Arqana Online January Sale on Jan. 31. A 1/48th share in Grade 1-winning jumper Nirvana Du Berlais (Fr) (Martaline {GB}) (lot 10) has been added to the catalogue. The share gives the right to two coverings a year in 2023 and 2024, followed by one covering a year beginning in 2025.
