A breeding right in Goliath du Berlais (Fr) topped the Arqana Online January Sale on Monday when going the way of Bertrand Le Metayer (BLM Bloodstock) for €80,000. The leading sire of three-year-old jumpers from his first crop, the Haras d'Etreham stallion was beaten just once in eight starts as a chaser in France, notably winning the G1 Prix Ferdinand Dufaure on his final appearance as a four-year-old. ITBA to Host Seminar on Challenges Facing Irish NH Breeding 

The Irish Thoroughbred Breeders' Association (ITBA) will stage a seminar to discuss the issues surrounding jump breeding in the country on Wednesday, January 17 at The Lord Bagenal in Leighlinbridge, Co Carlow. Entitled 'Jumping into the Future: The Challenges Facing Irish National Hunt Breeding', the debate will be led by trainer and breeder Lorna Fowler of Rahinston Farm and Stud.
