Nineteen individuals have been elected Breeders' Cup Members by 2023 Breeders' Cup foal and stallion nominators in voting that concluded Monday evening. Each Member will serve a four-year term. Jeff Bloom (TAA president) hit the problem on the head: "One way or another we need a mandatory sustainable fundraising solution. So who's going to pay for that?" Breeders' Cup Releases Ballot for 2024 Members' Election

The ballot was released for the 2024 election of 19 Breeders' Cup Members, according to Breeders' Cup Limited Monday. The Breeders' Cup election website will open May 27 for 2023 Breeders' Cup foal and stallion nominators to begin the voting process. Voting will close June 3. Trainer Reveals Tyler's Tribe Died from a Collapsed Trachea

According to trainer and co-owner Tim Martin, a necropsy performed on the popular Iowa-bred Tyler's Tribe (Sharp Azteca) revealed that his death was the result of a collapsed trachea. He died following a workout Wednesday at Oaklawn.  Martin said that when the trachea collapsed Tyler's Tribe was deprived of air and oxygen, which caused him to die.
