Every few years the Eclipse Award goes to a horse (always a turf horse) who ships in from overseas--usually fresh--and wins a Breeders' Cup race and our designated voters make the horse an American champion. Illness Claims Champion Conduit at 15

American and English champion Conduit (Ire) (Dalakhani {Ire}-Well Head {Ire}, by Sadler's Wells) passed away last week after a short illness at Tullyraine House Stud, Racing Post reported on Wednesday. The Ballymacoll Stud homebred was 15.
