The Indiana Thoroughbred Alliance (ITA) donated over $30,000 back to the Indiana Thoroughbred industry in 2022, including funds directly to Friends of Ferdinand's Broodmare Bunch, Children's TherAplay, and Otto Thorworth Ministries. Dilger Equine Scholarship Foundation to Host Golf Tournament

The Gerry Dilger Equine Scholarship Foundation will hold its inaugural golf tournament and auction Oct. 10 at Houston Oaks Golf Course in Paris, Kentucky. Former Jockey Julio Pezua Injured

Former jockey Julio Pezua, winner of over 1,300 races, was injured last week in a spill at Belmont Park. The 65-year-old suffered several fractured vertebrae in his neck, requiring surgery, and is still hospitalized on Long Island. Starting his American riding career at Calder in 1985, Pezua won several graded races, including the 1987 GI Manhattan S. and 1992 GI Met Mile. Thoroughbred Industry Raises $517K for Tornado Relief

Edited Press Release The Thoroughbred industry in Kentucky has raised $517,224 for both immediate response and longer-term recovery needs of individuals and families impacted by the deadly tornadoes occurring in Western Kentucky Dec. 10 and 11. Vaccarezza Organizes Fundraiser for Tornado Victims

A fundraising event to help benefit the families affected by last weekend's devastating Western Kentucky tornado will take place at Frank & Dino's restaurant in Lexington on Sunday, Jan. 2. The New York Race Track Chaplaincy of America has launched a matching gift drive for its food pantry that will benefit backstretch workers at Belmont Park as they deal with the many challenges posed by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
