Jockey Vicente Del Cid won his third overall riding title and his first since the 2023-24 season at the 76-day Delta Downs meeting which concluded Saturday. Allen Landry captured his second consecutive leading trainer title at the Louisiana oval and Endzone Athletics (Karl Broberg and Matt Johanson) won its 14th leading owner crown. Lone Star Park wrapped up its 29th Spring Thoroughbred Racing season Sunday, July 13, handling a daily average of $247,453 in Live On-Track handle and a daily average of $162,976 in export handle over the 41-day meet, which were both increases over 2024 figures by 2% and 5% respectively. Oaklawn Park Wraps 2024-25 Season Strong in Key Metrics, Meet Leaders Announced

The Oaklawn Park live racing season wrapped up last Saturday, and it delivered with strong numbers across the board, with over $56-million in purses distributed over 621 races, the track announced Monday evening. With an average of 10 races a day, and a daily purse distribution of $903,338, the racing remained competitive with an average of 9.32 starters per race. Lone Star Handle Biggest In 15 Years

The 25th season of Thoroughbred racing at Lone Star Park at Grand Prairie just outside of Dallas concluded July 11 with handle figures their largest since 2006. The figures do not include last year's pandemic season. Daily merged (i.e. live, on-track plus export) handle totaled $1,693,866 for the 48-day meet, while a daily average of $1,459,096 in export handle.
