LEXINGTON, KY - Demand continued high right to the very end of the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky October Yearlings Sale, which concluded Thursday in Lexington with new records for gross, average and median. Through four sessions, 1,097 horses sold for $71,843,500, dwarfing the previous record gross of $58,575,500 set just last year. The 2025 auction average of $65,491 eclipsed last year's previous record figure of $52,206, while the median of $30,000 broke the record of $25,000 set in 2022. Due to inclement weather in the Lexington area on Sunday (Oct. 19), Monday's (Oct. 20) opening session of the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky October Yearlings Sale will now begin at 11 am, a one-hour delay from its originally scheduled start time of 10:00 a.m. The remaining sessions, Tuesday through Thursday, will commence at the originally scheduled 10 a.m. start time.  

The preliminary schedule for the 2025 Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association (TOBA) educational clinics has been released, the group revealed Monday. The events will feature an assortment of topics for prospective, new, and established Thoroughbred owners and breeders. A breeding clinic will be hosted May 30-31 in Lexington with host farms including Airdrie Stud and Shamrock Glen in Woodford County. Due to inclement weather in and around Lexington Monday morning, officials at Fasig-Tipton have announced that Monday's opening session of the company's October Yearling Sale is being pushed back by one hour. The sale will now begin at 11 a.m. EDT. Before withdrawals, a total of 396 horses are cataloged for the first of four days of trade at Newtown Paddocks.
