In all, nine yearlings reached seven figures Monday, led by a colt by Gun Runner, bred by Bobby Flay and consigned by Stone Farm, who sold for $2.7 million to Winchell Thoroughbreds. A colt by Constitution (hip 97), consigned by Warrendale Sales, Agent for Stonestreet Bred for Brilliance, brought an even $1,000,000 from Pedro Lanz who signed on the ticket on behalf of KAS Stables to become the seventh horse to break the million-dollar barrier during Monday's opening session at Saratoga. The colt is out of a full-sister to GSW Ballet Dancing (Medaglia d'Oro) who has already produced two winners from two to race.
