Heavy Rainfall Forces Gulfstream To Cancel Saturday Program

Out of an abundance of caution, Gulfstream Park has cancelled Saturday's program after several days of heavy rain in the South Florida area, the track said in a Friday afternoon release. Severe Flooding in Hallandale Beach Prompts Horses' Move to Palm Meadows

After 20 inches of rain fell in Hallandale Beach, Florida Wednesday, Gulfstream Park officials have had to move around 300 horses from the lower barns, barns 1-11, as horses were standing in more than foot-deep water in their stalls. Thursday Racing at Gulfstream Cancelled

Florida's Gulfstream Park has cancelled the Thursday, June 13 card due to heavy rains in the area that are expected to last into Wednesday evening. An eight-race card was scheduled Thursday for the Hallandale Beach oval, but the greater area has experienced some flash flooding. Officials at Gulfstream expect live racing to resume Friday, June 14. A nine-race card is currently scheduled with a first post of 12:55 p.m. ET.
