First Rombauer Foal is a Filly Born in Kentucky

The first reported foal for GI Preakness Stakes hero Rombauer (Twirling Candy) is a filly born at Porta Pia Farm in Lexington, it was announced via press release Saturday afternoon. Out of a daughter of a French Listed-placed half-sister to two-time champion MGISW Covfefe (Into Mischief), herself the dam of SW Ellen Jay (Constitution), the filly was born Jan. 24. Catalina Cruiser To Stand In Chile

Catalina Cruiser (Union Rags--Sea Gull, by Mineshaft), a five-time Grade II winner at a variety of distances, will move from Lane's End Farm in Versailles, Kentucky, to continue his stud career at Haras Porta Pia in Chile. The deal was brokered by Matt Bowling of Bowling Bloodstock and J.P. Sullivan of Sullivan Bloodstock. Combatant to Shuttle to Chile in 2022

Freshman New York stallion COMBATANT (Scat Daddy-Border Dispute, by Boundary) will shuttle to Haras Porta Pia in Chile for Southern Hemisphere duties, announced officials at Rockridge Stud July 22. Combatant stood his first year at Rockridge Stud in Hudson, NY and was well-received by breeders. The half to GSW Long Lashes (Rock Hard Ten), SP Bordini (Bernardini), and GSP Mythical Border (Johannesburg) retired with a record of 30-4-5-6, and earnings of $1,062,915. The 2020 GI Santa Anita H. winner is a syndicated stallion.
