John Asher 'Hometown Hero' Banner Unveiled Monday

Churchill Downs' late Vice President of Communications John Asher, who died unexpectedly in 2018 at age 62, will be honored by the city of Louisville on Oct. 27 with a "Hometown Hero" banner that will be displayed in front of Presentation Academy, a school he championed for decades. Saratoga Holds Health Care Heroes and First Responders Day; Hometown Hero Nominations Open

The New York Racing Association (NYRA) will honor health care professionals and first responders Friday, July 16, at Saratoga. All Capital Region front-line workers who show proper identification will receive free grandstand admission to thank them for their service during the COVID-19 pandemic. Billed as Health Care Heroes and First Responders Day, presented by CDPHP, the day will also feature a performance from New York State Troopers Pipes and Drums.
