Churchill Downs' late Vice President of Communications John Asher, who died unexpectedly in 2018 at age 62, will be honored by the city of Louisville on Oct. 27 with a "Hometown Hero" banner that will be displayed in front of Presentation Academy, a school he championed for decades. The New York Racing Association (NYRA) will honor health care professionals and first responders Friday, July 16, at Saratoga. All Capital Region front-line workers who show proper identification will receive free grandstand admission to thank them for their service during the COVID-19 pandemic.
