The intuitive platform Stallion Match might be based in Australia but their expertise and client list don't emanate from a single national boundary. The site is a dedicated global resource where breeders anywhere can hypothetically mate their mares for free with any stallion on the planet. Matthew Ennis is the managing director and he says that Stallion Match is all about providing fast and practical decision-making support. "Stallion Match was born out of G1 Goldmine," Ennis said. "For more than a decade, we've provided a service where farms can promote...

Letter To The Editor: Women Need To Organize And Speak Up

Since you asked readers for input at the end of Carrie Brogden's letter, I'll offer what I've observed over the 38 years that I've been a racing fan. First: look at how U.S. racing regards races for fillies and mares. The distances are shorter and purses are smaller. Getting a filly to the Kentucky Derby has become much harder ever since a points system was implemented. Plus, there's no Triple Crown equivalent for fillies. Every other top level racing country has Grade I classics for each gender... the U.S. has...

Honor A.P.'s Reagan's Honor A Poignant Allowance Winner in NOLA

West Point Thoroughbreds, David Ingordo and Gabriel Duignan's REAGAN'S HONOR (c, 3, Honor A. P.--Rutile, by Medaglia d'Oro)--a horse with the fingerprints of the late John Shirreffs all over him--was forced to tackle older horses in his first go against winners Thursday afternoon at the Fair Grounds, but he passed the test with flying colors, leading past every pole en route to an easy 6 3/4-length victory. After touching 2-5 in the wagering, the $140,000 Keeneland September yearling was off to an awkward beginning as the 11-10 chalk, bumping with...

I love this aspect of horse racing, have owned horses myself for more than 20 years and I bred our first mare in 2017. Currently have 12 broodmares, and Mark Taylor and Travis White with Taylor Made help me with all of my matings. We...
