El Cordobes Leads Home Frankel 1-2 In the 'Win and You're In' Sword Dancer

El Cordobes (Ire) (Frankel {GB}), the lesser-preferred, less-accomplished and less-exposed part of an uncoupled entry for Godolphin and trainer Charlie Appleby, took his cue from Flavien Prat in upper stretch, split rivals on two occasions inside the final furlong and a half and dove across the line first to take out Saturday's GI Resorts World Casino Sword Dancer Stakes at Saratoga. With the victory, El Cordobes earns an automatic berth into the field for the GI Longines Breeders' Cup Turf at Del Mar later this fall. Exiting a victory in...

Saratoga Maidens Presented By Keeneland: Deep Learning Passed Her Tests In Saratoga Maiden Special

SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY -- There a was an easy-to-embrace educational angle to Deep Learning (Cairo Prince)'s victory in the third race Friday at Saratoga Race Course. She completed the 1 1/16 miles $100,000 maiden special weight contest on...

Cairo Prince Filly Goes 'Deep' On Debut, Becomes A 'Rising Star'

Klaravich Stables' Deep Learning (Cairo Prince) sat a midfield trip while saving all the ground in Friday's third race from Saratoga, hugged the fence into the lane, and when she was popped the question by Flavien Prat with better than a furlong to go, she left her rivals in the dust, careering away to graduate by a good three lengths to achieve 'TDN Rising Star' status.
