KILDARE, IRELAND - John Stewart made a welcome first visit to the Goffs Orby Sale on Monday and, despite taking a little time to acclimatise to the European style of bidding - with auctioneer Nick Nugent partly to blame - the Resolute Racing man spent €1,555,000 on four lots, headed by the sale-topping Blue Point colt at €675,000. Stewart Is Sticking To His Guns, Puca Will Be Sold

Baeza (McKinzie) won and is now the third son in a row out of Puca to capture a Grade I race. Puca's owner is John Stewart's Resolute Racing, who announced in August that Puca will be sold at this November's Fasig-Tipton "Night of the Stars" sale. As much as he'd like to keep Puca, he...

Breeding Digest: Baeza Latest In Boat's Wake

Sponsored by Pedigrees360. Candidly, it always feels a little cheap to delve into a pedigree once its functionality is established, scrubbing away any genetic mud before triumphantly producing some hidden nugget to explain how it has all come together. "Post rationalization" of this kind is standard in articles like this, and the absolute opposite of the grueling enterprise that has worn out the soles of so many shoes over the past couple of weeks. As ever, Keeneland presented thousands of perfectly plausible pages to measure against the animals paraded before...

Stewart: `I Liked Pedigrees360 So Much, I Bought the Company'

There was a famous t.v. commercial in the 1970s where Victor Kiam tells the audience that he was a dedicated `wet shaver' until his wife bought him a Remington electric shaver. He was so impressed, he says, he bought the company. John Stewart knows how Kiam felt. "When I first got into the industry back in 2023, I was looking for tools and so I went through the traditional ones, nicks and all the different tools," said Stewart. "And then I started going into pedigrees, looking at all the different...
