Oaklawn Park, like much of the country impacted by recent winter weather, will add Thursday, Jan. 30 to the current racing calendar in an effort to recoup lost days of live racing. Turf Paradise will no longer offer live racing or simulcasting beginning Oct. 1. Jerry Simms, the owner of the Phoenix-based track, announced Monday that after 23 years of operating the race track, he is retiring to spend more time with his family. Hipodromo Chile has been added to Sky Racing World's content portfolio of International Racing it was announced Thursday. The live simulcast is to be distributed across North America commencing June 15 and is available to watch on the SRW website, major ADW platforms, and the SRW App. Racing typically takes place every Thursday and Saturday with the first post at approximately 12pm EST. After running the first race, the decision was made to cancel the rest of Friday's card at Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots due to inclement weather. Live racing will resume on Saturday, Mar. 18 with nine races scheduled to begin at the regular post time of 1:15 p.m. CT.

Due to forecasted high winds and heavy rain in the Bay Area on Friday, Golden Gate Fields will  move the Friday, March 10 live race card to Thursday, March 9. Eight races are on the program for the now-Thursday card with first post time remaining at 12:45 PM.

Laurel Park, the Maryland track with a new dirt surface that was hit by winter weather this week, cancelled the Jan. 6 nine-race card due to the continuing effects of the winter storm, announced the Maryland Jockey Club (MJC) Thursday. The storm brought sleet, freezing rain, and snowfall to the area. Laurel, as well as Pimlico, Rosecroft, and the MJC OTB Network, will remain open for simulcasting. Live racing at Laurel is scheduled to resume Friday, Jan. 7. First post is 12:25 p.m.
