Charity Racing Welfare has won a silver award at the Smiley Film Awards on Mar. 20. The honour was given for the racing charity's 2023 Mental Health Awareness Week film, which depicts anxiety building up for a racehorse trainer. It was created in conjunction with Equine Productions and shows regular day-to-day scenarios that can adversely affect mental health in racing's participants. The 2022 Mental Health Awareness Week campaign--that centers on loneliness this year--kicks off May 9 and continues through May 16. Racing Welfare, supporting the British horseracing workforce, launched the initiative to mirror the national initiative run by the Mental Health Foundation.
