Fasig-Tipton will remain the title sponsor for the Fillies Turf Triple for another two years. The New York Racing Association and the Fasig-Tipson Company announced the renewal Thursday for the series of turf stakes for 3-year-old fillies. More Than Three Years After Original Indictments, A New Name Surfaces

In the case involving high-profile Thoroughbred trainers Jorge Navarro, Jason Servis and more than two dozen others, Standardbred horseman Brandon Simpson has pled guilty to one count of drug adulteration and misbranding conspiracy for his role in a scheme to provide horses with performance-enhancing drugs. Sonny Taylor Jr. Announces Retirement from NYRA

Sentell "Sonny" Taylor, Jr., who first joined the New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) as an assistant clocker in 1964 at Aqueduct, has announced his retirement. NYTB, SUNY Cobleskill Launch Thoroughbred Industry Course

The New York Thoroughbred Breeders, Inc., and SUNY Cobleskill will team up to offer an accredited course for upper-class students in the Animal Science program to experience all aspects of the Thoroughbred breeding and racing industry. After McCarthy Spill, Migliore Blames the NY Stewards

NY Commission Expresses Frustration About Endless Lasix Studies

The New York State Gaming Commission (NYSGC) took a unanimous voice vote on Thursday to request an exemption from the Horseracing Integrity and Safety Act Authority (HISA) that will allow the continued use of Lasix in races other than those for 2-year-olds and in stakes. Asking for the exemption also opts states into a three-year study that will be conducted by HISA that is designed to shape future federal Lasix policies, possibly as early as 2026. Belmont Spring/Summer Meet Increases from 2021

The New York Racing Association, Inc. released figures for the recently concluded Belmont Park spring/summer meet which generated $13,437,509 in average daily handle. With this year's 2% increase over 2021, average daily handle at the Belmont Park spring/summer meet has risen 23.1% since 2019. On-track handle for the 2022 spring/summer meet totaled $57,531,001, an increase of 16.6% over the 2021 figure of $49,343,664. NY Gaming Commission Upholds Void of Claim

A hearing officer for the New York Gaming Commission has upheld the voided claim of Battalion (Tiznow) in the fourth race at Belmont Park, May 28. Bella Mia Stables LLC and their trainer Bob Klesaris had entered the horse into the race with a $25,000 claiming tag.
