The weighing room and head-on stand at Newmarket's July Course will be redeveloped between 2022 and 2023, The Jockey Club announced on Wednesday. The internal layout and facilities of the weighing room will be upgraded as part of an ongoing industry-wide project. However, the traditional thatched roof overlooking the winner's enclosure will be retained. Both the head-on stand and trackside bar facilities will be upgraded and include a first-floor viewing terrace with stunning views of the racecourse. The first episode in a five-part video series to showcase the various aspects that make owning a horse-in-training in Britain worthwhile, was launched by Great British Racing International (GBRI) on Monday. Following a record 2021 season, the Henry Cecil Open Weekend will be held Sept. 17-18 at Newmarket. Each September, racing and equine enthusiasts descend on British racing's headquarters for a behind-the-scenes look at Britain's best-known racing yards.
