A colt from the first crop of California-based stallion Danzing Candy topped the open yearling session of the Ocala Breeders' Sales Company's October sale on a $115,000 bid from agent Donato Lanni. Overall numbers held up reasonably well compared to last year, especially considering the current economic pressures brought about by COVID-19. OBS October Opens Tuesday

Delayed a week after switching dates with the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic Yearling Sale, the Ocala Breeders Sales Company's October Sale begins its two-day run Tuesday. The sale kicks off at noon Tuesday with a mix of 59 2-year-olds and horses of racing age, followed by 169 selected yearlings. Wednesday's session begins at 10:30 a.m. with an open session of 420 yearlings. Supplements will immediately follow the regular catalogue each day. Not This Time Filly First To Seven Figures at OBS

A filly from the first crop of Not This Time (Hip 1254) was the first juvenile to hit the seven-figure mark at OBS late in Wednesday's session, hammering for $1.35-million to agent Gary Young, who was acting on behalf of an undisclosed client. It was the first million-dollar sale for the Gladwells' Top Line Sales. They purchased the filly, who breezed in an uktra-sharp :20 1/5, for $135,000 at KEESEP for a partnership that included their good friend Mark Marino.
